Hoy tenemos el placer de comentar otra tanda de renovaciones, que siempre son buenas noticias, y la protagonista en esta ocasión es la cadena orientada al público juvenil The CW, que ha dado el visto bueno a la continuación de The Vampire Diaries, 90210 y Supernatural para la próxima temporada.
De ello ha informado Spoiler TV, que confirma la renovación de The Vampire Diaries por una cuarta temporada, la secuela de Beverly Hills 90210 por una quinta y Supernatural por una nada despreciable octava tanda de episodios.
The Vampire Diaries está basada en la serie de novelas del mismo nombre de L.J. Smith, y tiene lugar en Mystic Falls, un pequeño pueblo repleto de seres sobrenaturales que tienen apariencia humana normal pero que de normales no tienen nada. Ganadora de varios premios y nominada a unos cuantos más, en su reparto destaca Ian Somerhalder, el popular Boone de Lost.
90210 es la Sensación de vivir (nombre que le impuso Telecinco en su día, pero que no tiene nada que ver con el original Beverly Hills 90210) del siglo XXI y recuperaba casi una década después de la mítica serie su universo, e incluso a algunos de sus personajes que ahora han tenido papeles minúsculos en la nueva producción, sin duda porque sus respectivas carreras no llegaron a despegar después de la legendaria serie.
En 90210 vuelve el sabor de aquella primera producción que se emitió entre 1990 y 2000, y sigue siendo un culebrón para público adolescente, pero con nuevos personajes, actores y situaciones adaptadas a los nuevos tiempos. Tampoco le han faltado los premios y nominaciones.
Finalmente Supernatural es un drama con tintes sobrenaturales como se deduce del nombre, pero también humor negro, que gira alrededor de dos hermanos que se dedican a cazar seres demoníacos. La serie ha dado lugar a productos relacionados como cómics, novelas e incluso un anime japonés.
