Bobby Cannavale llegara a las emisiones de BOARDWALK EMPIRE

Que este señor, Bobby Cannavale, se incorporará a Boardwalk Empire en su tercera temporada no es nada nuevo, pero sí lo son algunos detalles que dieron los miembros de su reparto en el encuentro que tuvieron en el Leonard Goldenson Theatre junto con el creador de la serie, Terence Winter, y un patio de butacas lleno a rebosar.

No son detalles impactantes, pero sí interesantes para los seguidores de esta serie situada en Atlantic City en los años de la Prohibición del alcohol. Por un lado, según Deadline, se dijo que la acción se situaría 15 meses después de los hechos con los que terminó la segunda temporada, concretamente en la Nochevieja de 1922 a 1923. Lógicamente lo que ocurrió tiene una serie de consecuencias y en general las cosas se han puesto más feas que nunca, porque la Prohibición sigue en marcha y la gente se está quedando de verdad sin alcohol, a pesar de los “esfuerzos” de los mafiosos por “distribuirlo”.

Ello motivará un cambio en el mundo del protagonista, Nucky Thompson, como también lo hará la llegada de un nuevo rival, Gyp Rosetti (Cannavale). Aparte de este nuevo gángster habrá otros que verán aumentar su papel y su importancia, como es el caso de Al Capone, que hasta ahora ha sido un personaje secundario y en sus años de “formación”. Esto no sorprenderá en absoluto a los conocedores de la historia de la mafia, pero no olvidemos que el protagonista de todo esto es Nucky.

Otras preguntas que se respondieron tienen relación con el hijo de Jimmy Darmody, al que al parecer seguiremos viendo (y si se alarga la serie quién sabe si reaparecerá de mayor para saldar cuentas con Nucky), y con el desaparecido Van Alden, interpretado por un Michael Shannon que estaba en el evento y que dijo unas misteriosas palabras, “menos mal que sé tocar la trompeta”, que provocaron un momento incómodo cuando Winter le contestó “Gracias por desvelarlo”. Curioso.

Recordemos que está previsto que la tercera temporada de esta serie con Martin Scorsese como productor ejecutivo y director del piloto se estrenará en septiembre en los Estados Unidos.
