Gracias a series como Battlestar Galactica, Warehouse 13 y Being Human, Syfy se ha convertido en el mejor lugar para los fanáticos de la ciencia ficción y el genero fantástico, por lo que nos alegra descubrir que la cadena ha anunciado la producción más de una decena de nuevos proyectos para los próximos dos años.
Vale aclarar que hablamos de proyectos y no de series simplemente porque no todos tienen su producción confirmada más allá del piloto, y algunos recién se encuentran en sus etapas iniciales y solo son una realidad en papel.
Como pueden imaginar, dentro de la lista podemos encontrar todo tipo de proyectos, desde adaptaciones de grandes libros y comics hasta mundos futuristas que seguramente intentarán replicar el éxito conseguido por Battlestar Galactica y similares.
Defiance
Protagonizada por Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Stephanie Leonidas, Tony Curran, Jaime Murray, Fionnula Flanagan, Mia Kirshnerand y Graham Greene, este es uno de los proyectos más importantes que tiene la cadena tanto por presupuesto como reparto. La serie tiene lugar en un futuro cercano donde la Tierra está habitada por los sobrevivientes de una nueva guerra mundial. Forzados a subsistir, los distintos grupos hacen todo lo posible para construir una nueva sociedad en medio de los escombros.
Rewind
Este proyecto se enfoca en un grupo de operativos militares y científicos civiles que deben utilizar la tecnología más avanzada para viajar en el tiempo y alterar eventos del pasado con el objetivo de evitar un ataque terrorista global. El piloto es protagonizado por Shane McRae, Jennifer Ferrin, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Robbie Jones y Keon Mohajeri.
The Adjustment Bureau
Basada en la película del mismo nombre, este piloto nos presenta un mundo donde misteriosos guardianes trabajan para que el mundo siga trabajando de acuerdo a El Plan. Ellos crean todo desde accidentes aéreos hasta pequeños tropiezos para que las personas descubran su destino, pero hay algo que ellos no pueden controlar: el libre albedrío.
High Moon
Basada en la novela The Lotus Caves de John Christopher y producida por Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies), esta serie explora un mundo donde los países de la Tierra han establecido colonias para absorber los recursos de la Luna. Cuando se descubre una nueva forma de vida, explota una guerra entre los distintos grupos para revelar sus misteriosos secretos.
Booster Gold
Basado en el personaje de DC Comics, este proyecto cuenta la historia de un ex-atleta del futuro que viaja hasta el presente con la esperanza de convertirse en el mejor superhéroe de todos los tiempos. Pero en lugar de perseguir criminales, su objetivo es recuperar la fama y el dinero que tenia durante sus años como estrella deportiva.
Grave Sight
Basada en los libros de Charlaine Harris está historia sigue a Harper Connelly, una mujer con una habilidad particular. Luego de ser golpeada por un rayo, Harper puede sentir la ubicación y los últimos recuerdos de los muertos. Ella une fuerzas con su medio-hermano, Tolliver Lang, para ayudar en la búsqueda de una niña perdida, solo para descubrir la red de mentiras y asesinatos en un pequeño pueblo.
Seeing Things
Basada en el comic Grey Legion de Platinum Studios, este proyecto sigue a un policía que, luego de sufrir una muerte violenta, regresa como fantasma para cerrar su último caso, pero la única persona que puede ayudarlo es un joven socialmente tímido que descubre por primera vez que sus alucinaciones no podrían ser un producto de su mente.
Defender
Presentando una premisa muy similar a BSG, Defender comienza después de una guerra intergaláctica entre humanos y trans-humanos. Como parte de la recuperación, la nave Defender, ocupada por una mezcla de viejos enemigos, es enviada en lo que parece ser una misión de paz pero se convierte en una lucha por sus vidas y la seguridad del universo.
The Family
Por generaciones, una familia de extraterrestres se ha escondido de los humanos en plena luz utilizando su avanzado intelecto para adaptarse a la vida en el planeta, pero cuando el patriarca que mantuvo la paz entre las facciones muere, se dispara una guerra entre los que no quieren cambios y aquellos que creen que ha llegado el momento de salir a la superficie y mostrar sus poderes frente a los inferiores humanos.
Thanks to shows like Battlestar Galactica, Warehouse 13 and Being Human, Syfy has become the best place for fans of science fiction and fantasy genre, so we are happy to discover that the production chain has announced more than a dozen new projects for the next two years.
Worth mentioning that we talk about projects, not simply because not all series have confirmed their production beyond the pilot, and some are just in its early stages and are only a reality on paper.
As you can imagine, in the list can find all kinds of projects, from adaptations of great books and comics to futuristic worlds that will surely try to replicate the success of Battlestar Galactica and the like.

Defiance
Starring Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Stephanie Leonidas, Tony Curran, Jaime Murray, Fionnula Flanagan, Graham Greene and Kirshnerand Mia, this is one of the most important chain has both budget and cast. The series takes place in a near future where Earth is inhabited by the survivors of a world war. Forced to survive, the groups do their best to build a new society in the midst of the rubble.
Rewind
This project focuses on a group of military operations and civilian scientists should use the latest technology to travel back in time and change past events in order to prevent a global terrorist attack. The pilot is played by Shane McRae, Jennifer Ferrin, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Robbie Jones and Keon Mohajeri.

They create everything from plane crashes to small slips for people to discover their fate, but there is something they can not control: free will.
High Moon
