EAGLEHEART, un comisario fuera de época, pero muy divertido

Eagleheart es una serie un tanto extraña. No es muy conocida, aunque tiene un sentido del humor que quizás disfruten algunos televidentes, y ya lleva 2 temporadas que han pasado bastante desapercibidas pero no por eso deberíamos dejar de mencionarla como una de las comedias de 2012.

Producida por la compañía del famoso Conan O'Brien, Eagleheart empezó a emitirse en 2011 y Cartoon Network la pasa por su bloque conocido como Adult Swim desde el primer episodio y ahora ya se han confirmado 12 nuevos capítulos para componer la segunda temporada.

Chris Monsanto, interpretado por Chris Eliott, es el comisario de un pueblo alejado en los Estados Unidos donde la lucha contra el crimen sirve como parodia a series del tipo Walker,
Texas Ranger, donde los policías se ven envueltos en investigaciones repletas de acción. En Eaglehearth cada capítulo es autoconclusivo y no hay una historia unificadora, simplemente vemos capítulos repletos de chistes donde abunda la violencia física como demostración de un sistema de justicia bastante peculiar, pero no por eso menos divertido.

El comisario Monsanto cumple su deber asistido por Brett (Brett Gelman), un hombre de poco ingenio que suele recurrir a los golpes para resolver sus problemas, y Susie (Maria Thayer), una oficial que disfruta seguir las reglas pero se ve metida en toda clase de problemas por las conductas extravagantes de su jefe.

Una muestra clara del singular sentido del humor de la serie está dada en el primer episodio. Chris Monsanto debe trabajar con dos nuevos compañeros, Brett y Susie, después de que su colega de toda la vida muere en un tiroteo contra el señor del crimen, Vargas.

Decidido a vengarse, Chris se infiltra en el hospital solo para descubrir que Vargas ha sufrido daño cerebral y su objetivo cambia: todavía quiere vengarse, pero primero ayudará al criminal a rehabilitarse. Muy divertido.

Eagleheart is a rather strange series. It is well known, although it has a sense of humor that some viewers might enjoy, and it takes 2 seasons that have passed quite unnoticed but not why we should stop mentioning it as one of the comedies of 2012.

Chris Monsanto, played by Chris Elliott, is the curator of a remote village in the United States where the fight against crime serves as a parody of the type series Walker, Texas Ranger, where police are involved in research and action packed. In each chapter is autoconclusivo Eaglehearth and there is no unifying story, just see chapters full of jokes abounding physical violence as a demonstration of a rather peculiar system of justice, but no less fun.
Commissioner Monsanto is doing its duty assisted by Brett (Brett Gelman), a man of little wit that often resort to blows to resolve their problems, and Susie (Maria Thayer), an officer who enjoys following the rules but is stuck in all class of problems by the bizarre behavior of his boss.
A clear example of the unique sense of humor of the series is given in the first episode. Chris Monsanto must work with two new friends, Brett and Susie, after his lifelong colleague killed in a shootout against the crime lord, Vargas.
Determined to avenge himself, Chris infiltrates the hospital only to find that Vargas has suffered brain damage and a shift: still wants revenge, but first help to rehabilitate the criminal. Very funny.
